It\u2019s one of my favorite shows to tune in. Before moving on, you can refresh your memory with my initial <a href=\"http:\/\/pinartarhan.com\/blog\/body-of-proof-starring-dana-delaney-nicholas-bishop-jeri-ryan\/\" target=\"_blank\">review for the show<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Why I\u2019ll Always Appreciate Another Body of Proof Season <\/b><\/p>\n<p>When you like a show purely for its concept, and it doesn\u2019t attempt to lure you in with serial story lines, it has a higher chance of keeping you interested.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019ve been shows that I initially liked more than Body of Proof, but while some of those shows produced entire seasons I didn\u2019t enjoy (<a href=\"http:\/\/pinartarhan.com\/blog\/supernatural-starring-jared-padalecki-jensen-ackles\/\" target=\"_blank\">Supernatural<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/pinartarhan.com\/blog\/alias\/\" target=\"_blank\">Alias<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/pinartarhan.com\/blog\/fringe-starring-joshua-jackson-anna-torv-john-noble\/\" target=\"_blank\">Fringe<\/a>), there hasn\u2019t been one episode of Body of Proof that bored me. Sure, some episodes are better than others, and some two-parters (Going Viral, Season 2, Episodes 18 &amp; 19) have been great. But all in all, to me, it is better to be entertaining all around than to be awesome for a while (e.g. Supernatural Seasons 1,2,3) and then bore me to death (Supernatural seasons 6 &amp; 7).<\/p>\n<p><b>Story Background with Some\u00a0 Major Spoilers for Season 2 <\/b><\/p>\n<p>If you are new to the show, you can read my <a href=\"http:\/\/pinartarhan.com\/blog\/body-of-proof-starring-dana-delaney-nicholas-bishop-jeri-ryan\/\" target=\"_blank\">review for the first season<\/a>. But I prepared a quick fix for you anyway:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You don\u2019t have to watch an entire season to catch up. All you need to know is that Megan Hunt (Dana Delany) is a brilliant surgeon-turned-medical examiner. She\u2019s divorced with teenage daughter Lacey (Mary Mouser), and a total workaholic; with an addiction to finding the truth no matter what. Nope, she\u2019s not the easiest person to work with.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Yes, she acts like examiner\/detective, driving a lot of people crazy in the process. But just like Lightman (<a href=\"http:\/\/pinartarhan.com\/blog\/lie-to-me-tv-series-starring-tim-roth-as-cool-as-it-gets\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lie to Me<\/a>) is the best at reading faces and bodies, Megan reads dead bodies like no one else can. And as much as her friends and colleagues complain, she\u2019s the best, and there\u2019re tons of killers who wouldn\u2019t have been caught if it weren\u2019t for her.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And like most brilliant and unorthodox TV characters, she\u2019s really fun to watch.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Season 3 brings in 2 new characters, after killing off the second main character, Peter Dunlop (Nicholas Bishop), Megan\u2019s friend\/MI and potential love interest. Unfortunately season 2 ended with a cliff-hanger Megan panicking next to a bleeding Peter, whose survival chances seemed slim. The two cops (played by (John Carroll Lynch, Sonja Sohn) Megan collaborated with were also change. Apparently the show was suffering from low ratings, so the producers decided to vamp up the show with new blood.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>While I liked Peter\u2019s character and her dynamic with Megan, I didn\u2019t have to worry about his departure when Mark Valley was brought in. And instead of being the new MI, he is one of the two cops Megan will be working with. Oh, and to make things more complicated, they do have a history, which ended with him screwing up and annoying Megan to no end.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>His partner Adam (Elyes Gabel) is also likeable, young, capable and not above teasing Valley\u2019s Tommy Sullivan about his past relationship with Megan despite Sullivan\u2019s death threats.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Season 3, Episode 1<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Megan comes back to work 3 months after Peter\u2019s death, bored from having stayed away from work but still shaken up. She has to put up with a rookie MI, and finds out that she has to work with 2 new cops, one of them being her ex flame&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>The case they are working on however is bigger than any of their issues: someone is kidnapping veterans, removing their spleens and killing them later. While \u201cthe why\u201d haunts them, the brains of the operations find the perfect way to eliminate Megan-through her daughter Lacey.<\/p>\n<p>Episode 2 will serve as the second part of season opening.
