Sarah Taylor (Rebecca De Mornay) is a criminal psychologist, helping the police. She has a pretty ordinary life, until she meets Tony Ramirez (Antonio Banderas) – a sexy security consultant she meets. It is all sparks and lust – until Sarah starts getting disturbing “gifts” and suspects they are from Tony. Her suspicions doesn’t stop her from falling for him, however. Who is stalking her? And why? Is Tony a psychopath, or is the movie title actually meant for him?

Never Talk to Strangers is a very mediocre thriller from the 90s. The acting and the events are told in an exaggerated way and the sex scenes are enough to make this movie a soft porn. This is a film that further proves my point that Antonio Banderas loves getting naked. He shows his butt in Original Sin, Thick as Thieves, Of Love and Shadows and probably other films I can’t remember. Nudity is all very well if it serves a point but two actors acting like they are shooting porn doesn’t just make a good film.
You might want to argue that this is an erotic thriller – but the sex scenes aren’t sexy- they are just funny. And this movie is trying anything to be but comedy.
I love the 90s, I like Banderas and I love thrillers. And I can’t recommend this film- at least as a thriller. It has too much plot to be porn and not enough to be a real film. 4.9 on IMDB.
