Actors’ Take on Nudity feat. Ashley Judd, Angelina Jolie, Antonio Banderas, Gerard Butler & More

Ashley Judd
Ashley Judd is a good actress, but she is also sexy. I am guessing any director would want to take advantage of it?

Ashley Judd is quoted to have said that she refused to get naked in her first role, saying her mom didn’t work that hard to see her daughter lose her clothes in her first movie. But then Ashley Judd appeared naked in some roles. So apparently it is alright for her mom if her daughter does it the second/third time around?

Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw, Sex and the City
Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw, Sex and the City

Some actors have no problems baring all whether some have to agree, otherwise they wouldn’t get the part. It depends on the power and the preference. Sarah Jessica Parker is the only Sex and The City star that doesn’t bare her boobs. It is a major accomplishment to keep one’s bra in such a TV show is a remarkable thing, if you ask me. I love the show but hey, I don’t need to see everything the four women’ve got!

Kim Basinger engages in a not-so-romantic relationship with Mickey Rourke.
Kim Basinger engages in a not-so-romantic relationship with Mickey Rourke. Apparently, you can film sex scenes without using your own body...

Some roles do ask for it. You can always get a body stunt. Kim Basinger and Mickey Rourke’s hit 9œ Weeks includes a lot of Kim’s flesh- only they are not Kim’s.

Antonio Banderas and Angelina Jolie get sexy
Antonio Banderas and Angelina Jolie pose for a promo photo. Yep, selling sex as much as possible. Hey, it was a good movie and it tells a fun story on lust, love and possession. So sex is a central part of the movie anyway.

Antonio Banderas and Angelina Jolie never minded being naked and you can take a look at them going native together in the movie Original Sin. Fun movie but I am not sure how comfortable I would be with their scenes, had I been dating Antonio (OK, I wouldn’t exactly mind if I were dating Banderas. I’d be too busy gloating, but I’m making a point here).

Gerard Butler in Law Abiding Citizen
Now, Gerard Butler was naked when they captured his character. This is the most "naked" picture I could find. Did the writer put it down? Or did Gerard think it would be fun? OK- it was fun for me, that's for sure...

Gerard Butler does bare a lot (but not enough, as one of my good friends notably mentioned) in Law Abiding Citizen. He jokes with Jay Leno that he does like getting undressed for a movie. After all, he produces the movie and calls the shots. He didn’t do anything he didn’t want to do. Hey, no complaints here. Besides, if I were a guy and I looked like that ,I so wouldn’t mind taking my clothes off either.

So, either you don’t have the power and have to say yes for the role (or you just have to pass on the role) or you do have the power. When you do have the power, it depends on how you feel about the “sex sells” motto. Now, I am guessing Law Abiding Citizen would not have been less successful without Gerard showing off his muscles, but hey, his “naked” scene does add to his characters psycho “mood.” As long as the scene calls for it, I guess there is no harm done. But hey, nudity for nudity’s sake always feels out of place- whether it is a feast of sight for the boys or the girls or both…

What do you think?

Seth Godin’s The Dip

Now you’re stuck in a Dip, and you can’t get out of it

Stuck in a moment is a U2 song that I mostly like to ignore. Not that it is bad, but because it is depressing; especially when I feel like dedicating it to myself. Don’t label me as self-centered yet. OK, maybe I am a little bit. But hey, cut me some slack. I am working to make my dreams come true and for a while now, I’ve been stuck in The Dip.

Seth Godin, The Dip
It doesn't get more real and fun than The Dip: Being in the dip is not that fun. Reading the book is...

The Dip is Seth Godin’s book. Godin is rightfully labeled as a marketing genius. But honestly, that’s not why I bought the book.  I only accept authority or follow guidelines when I make sense out of what that person says. Think about it, I don’t listen to my favorite bands just because the songs are fun. The lyrics appeal to me – their philosophy on life hits home. They are all about living life to the fullest and making your dreams come true. And don’t forget, these lyrics are coming from bands that actually made their dreams come true. So:

-I look for a preacher who has successfully preached what he’s saying.

– I look for a preacher I can relate to. I can’t go all Zen on you when I am one of the most hyper-active people you are ever going to meet.

Yes, it helps that Seth is a marketing genius. But what matters more is that I love what he says and I get it. I am coming from an advertising & business background. Things in common? Check. Role-model to look up to? Check. Do I agree with what he is saying? Will I do what he is suggesting? Check, Check.

Now that I have established I loved reading The Dip and why I became a follower of Seth, let’s talk more about the whole Dip thing.

The book has 80 pages I devoured at one sitting, with magic markers. I love coming back to the book and talking to my friends about it. Not because I am an affiliate partner or anything. The guy has no idea who I am. But when I feel stuck, the book helps me get through the day.

Seth talks about why people don’t quit when they should. He emphasizes the importance of understanding whether your situation is a dead-end one, or you have just reached the most difficult part of your path the success. Seth defines The Dip as “the long slog between starting and mastery”. As hard and endless as it may seem, once you overcome it, you will reach your goals. He gives many interesting examples from different things in life. You get what The Dip is. But this leaves you with the most difficult question. Are you actually in The Dip?

I know writing is what I want to do. Hell, I have been doing it since I was 9. Being read makes me so happy, even if it is just by one person. So what do I need to do to make it 10000000?

Why do you think I feel the urge to write every single minute? I know this post is mostly dedicated to my Dip, and sorry about that. I will try to follow-up with more stories from different backgrounds. I will also talk more about the book.

Do you feel stuck? Are you working to reach your goals and dreams? Are you working for the stuff you know you are destined for? If you want to know for sure, I suggest you read it. It is fun, short but it very straight to the point.

Of Love and Shadows starring Antonio Banderas and Jennifer Connelly

Of love and Shadows, 1994 movie starring Antonio Banderas and Jennifer Connelly
Of love and Shadows, 1994 movie starring Antonio Banderas and Jennifer Connelly. Now, another reason to like the movie... OK, I like this scene in the poster. It is sexy and it is romantic. Warning for boys: Antonio reveals much more than Jennifer.

OK. Don’t let the poster fool you. While the steamy screen implicated in the poster does take place in the movie, the

movie is not about sex. It is a love story with a dominant political background. And while the movie has many flaws, it is a decent picture.

The plot:

Irene (Jennifer Connelly) is a journalist in a fashion magazine in Chile during the fascist dictatorship. However, she lives in relatively well conditions with her mom. Irene’s fiancĂ© Gustavo is a soldier and her comfortable, though a little restricted life, has kept her eyes closed to how bad things really are in the country.

Francisco (Antonio Banderas) is a psychologist. His family has been exiled from Spain and since he can’t work as a psychologist during a time when it is considered to be one of the biggest taboos, he gets work as a photographer and starts working for Irene. He and Irene develop an instant bond. While their friendship deepens and Francisco falls for her, he also opens her eyes to what’s really going on in the country. He also works in the “shadows”- that is he helps people that have been tortured/jailed unjustly- just because the military “felt like it”

The flaws:

– The acting is too over the top. Sometimes even Connelly doesn’t even seem that natural but she still makes it work because of how her character is supposed react. Antonio Banderas is quite good. In fact, he is the only one that acts quite well. The rest of the cast looks like they would have belonged better on stage- during times when theater acting was much more exaggerated.

– The movie is in English and the cast’s exaggeratedly heavy accents really hurt the ear. Next to them, you will think Banderas is a native English speaker. Plus, we are used to his accent. Connelly also speaks softly and she doesn’t hurt. But the rest…Thankfully, the majority of the dialogues and events take between these two characters. I wish the movie wasn’t shot in English. Total recasting, except Banderas, wouldn’t have been a bad idea either. Now, there is a reason I like him in this type of film. Yeah, he is good-looking and all that. But, playing a passionate lover is something he does very well. It fits.

Why the hell do I like it?

The first time I saw it, the story got to me. When you don’t know the storyline and don’t know if the characters are going to make it, it is easier to concentrate on the surroundings than the actors and accents. And you got me: I like it when Banderas acts as passionately he does. I mean, you have a character who is passionate both romantically and ideologically, and he fights for what he believes in.

Facts

The book is based on the book of Isabel Allende and the movie was directed by Betty Caplan. Maybe there should be a remake with another director

10 Deliciously Dirty Rock (‘N Roll) Songs feat. Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Bryan Adams & More

Posted on January 3, 2010 Written by ripitup

Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Elvis
Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, AC/DC and more

Sex, drugs and rock n’ roll is the motto and it has certainly inspired more songs than we can count. However we know that rockers sometimes just like to dwell on the sex part. Songs about sex are fun, fast and they feature great electric guitar riffs. Sure there are some exceptions that are sung with a deep voice and would be perfect for foreplay (Elvis, Fever) and not just for dancing or laughs at the concert. Here are some of my favorite mischief songs. They are not in order really. I love them all equally:

1) Def Leppard, All Night

– All Night is on the Euphoria album. Sure the name makes the theme pretty clear and Joe Elliot verges on orgasm with his fun vocals. My friend once asked me what my favorite Def Leppard album was. When I inclined towards Euphoria, he was shocked. Maybe he will understand a bit, now. After all, we are all addicted to entertainment.

“I like a woman who loves to drive, Loves to do it fast, yeah, above 95

Oh, yeah, oh, yeah, oh yeah”

For the lyrics: http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/defleppard/allnight.html

To listen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUUgOKK8EP8

“All night, I wanna do it
All night, oh give me love baby
All night, I wanna have ya
All night, I want to taste you
Oh, yeah, oh, yeah, oh yeah”

Yep, this song is very good and very naughty indeed.

2) Whitesnake , Would I lie to you

“Hey girl, if you want me, come and get me

Don’t hang around or we could spend the night sleeping alone…”

Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale has adorably cute vocals singing this but come on, let’s face it. When would David ever have to get all so cute so he could get a girl? He was certainly not bad-looking and well, he is a rocker. And I saw him live. Twice. If girls don’t find him that attractive off-stage (including me and my mated), they are dying to “marry” him afterwards. So, yeah, I really wouldn’t keep him begging. Or maybe I would. Could be fun to watch him get creative…

“…If you could change your mind, we could find a night of satin sheet action…”

For the lyrics: http://www.metrolyrics.com/would-i-lie-to-you-lyrics-whitesnake.html

To listen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CehluG5otRY

“Would I lie to you, should I lie to you? Just to get in your pants…”

3) Bon Jovi, Lay your hands on me

It is not just the lyrics or the vocals… But also “the sound effects”.

Seriously Jon, do you really need to ask?

“If you’re ready, I’m willing and able
Help me lay my cards out on the table
You’re mine and I’m yours for the taking
Right now the rules we made are meant for breaking”

Lyrics: http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/bonjovi/layyourhandsonme.html

Song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86J83qGLqtc

I don’t care how funny Jon’s hair was.

“I’m a fighter, I’m a poet, I’m a preacher
I’ve been to school and baby, I’ve been the teacher
If you show me how to get up off the ground
I can show you how to fly and never ever come back down”

I am sorry fellas, but indie rock will never cut it. And forget the drugs, too. It’s sex, rockn’roll and well…more sex.

4) Alice Cooper, Spark in the dark

“Welcome to the party
It’s only me and you
Tell the world to go away, babe
And I’ll tell you what to do
Come over here and kiss me
I want to pull your hair”

Now, I don’t find Alice Cooper sexy as a guy, obviously. But I love the guy’s music and who is better as mischief and sexy songs than Alice? I salute the Ugly King of Rock!

Lyrics: http://www.darklyrics.com/lyrics/alicecooper/trash.html#2

Song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=at0AgyyuQn8

“We’ll be crawlin’on the floor
Burnin’with the fever
And yellin’out for more
But don’t you write it in your diary, baby
Don’t blab it on the phone
Cuz if your mom and dad find out
They’ll skin me to the bone”

5) Chris Isaak, Baby did a bad, bad thing

Now, Chris isn’t always strictly rockn’roll but this song as “bad” as a good rocknroll songs. I couldn’t find the original video with Laetitia Casta and I looked all over youtube. But thankfully, someone made some combinations.

The song, the video, the voice, the music, Chris, Casta…

This song is pure sex.

Lyrics: http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/chrisisaak/babydidabadbadthing.html

Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0U8FeWe-L0

The better version (of the song, not the video): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7a35GnfPTc&feature=related

6) Bryan Adams, I wanna be your underwear

Obviously, I couldn’t find a Bryan video for this one. I don’t even know if there is a video. But there is the song with a video attached. I think it is some TV show. Pay attention to the lyrics folks. I love this song.

“I wanna be your T-shirt when it’s wet,

I wanna be the shower when you sweat.

I got to be the tattoo on your skin,

Let me be the bed baby when you climb in”

The Lyrics: Just listen to the song. It is very clear!

Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=El1p0Xj2wtI

“ From your feet up to your hair, more than anything I swear

I wanna be your underwear”

Does it sound gross? Nope. Not when Bryan sings it anyway. Don’t label him as that romantic Canadian who sang “Everything I do, I do it for you”. When he wants to be dirty, trust me, he can be.

7) Poison, Sexual Thing

Kings of glam rock. No other way to put it. They can dress as funny as they want, I don’t freaking care. It is one of their best songs ever. It also has to be the dirtiest, naughtiest “mischief” song and I am addicted to it.

“I welcome you
To the house of sin
Open your mind
And let the games begin

I’m your lust
and I’m your greed
I’m every sick thought
that you ever done dreamed”

Song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCo6Qx-wcZk

Lyrics: http://www.poisonwebsite.com/

8 ) Elvis Presley, Fever

It is not the lyrics, although they help. It is the vocals and the music, mostly. Elvis is just…Everytime I hear this song, I think about foreplay and well…beyond.

Lyrics: http://www.oldielyrics.com/lyrics/elvis_presley/fever.html

Song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9Ht1q9psfY

9) AC/DC, You shook me all night long

I am talking about rocknroll and being dirty and all that. And you didn’t think I’d leave these guys out, did you?

“She was a fast machine, She kept her motor clean, She was the best damn woman I had ever seen

She had the sightless eyes ,Telling me no lies, Knockin’ me out with those American thighs, Taking more than her share Had me fighting for air She told me to come but I was already there ‘Cause the walls start shaking The earth was quaking My mind was aching And we were making it and you – CHORUS: Shook me all night long Yeah you shook me all night long”

Song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bomv-6CJSfM

Lyrics: http://acdcwillie.tripod.com/back.htm

I only got to see a cover band. They were really good. But I want to see the real thing!!!

10) Mötley CrĂŒe, Girls girls girls

I’m a proud, long-term, die-hard Motley fan. And I saw them live. Oh, man! I love this band. They freakin’ rock! Oh, of course they are freaks. But hey, they have always been on the wild side.

“Girls, Girls, Girls
Long legs and burgundy lips
Girls,
Dancin’ down on Sunset Strip
Girls
Red lips, fingertips

Trick or treat-sweet to eat
On Halloween and New Year’s Eve
Yankee girls ya just can’t beat
But they’re the best when they’re off their feet”

Song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaVlvr7UGvg

Lyrics: http://www.darklyrics.com/lyrics/motleycrue/girlsgirlsgirls.html#2

There are more dirty and fun songs, people. I’ll keep them comin’.
