I might have spent countless time on monetizing ebooks and I can’t say that I didn’t find something useful in almost every book I read. In fact, in all fairness, the ebooks were very informative. It is just that the more you know, the less books can teach you something which is great.

One of the sites I discovered on how to monetize your site sort of stuff was mylikes.com.

You go, sign up and after only a couple of minutes on the site, what you need to do becomes simple enough. You go and fill out your profile. You fill in the name of your website/blog, describe it and choose the appropriate categories. After that,  you will see related offers. Some may not be too relevant, but don’t give up on the site. It eventually comes up with great options and quite relevant too. “My likes” are the things that you are promoting. You can choose to promote on site, Twitter or Facebook. And what is not 100% related to your website might be just the perfect thing for your audience.

And the great thing is, it is not about hard-selling. It might be a new musician, a new facebook game or a new television series. I am giving these examples from my mylikes page. Since my blog is mostly about entertainment, my offers are entertainment related. Your options might be different.

The site comes with an affiliate code too. You can put “your likes” on the page, plus you can add a mylikes badge. You can also have a direct link embedded in your posts and articles or tweets. So it is both html and regular link. And what you earn from the clicks is not low either. It can be $0,20 or more, which may not be earth-shattering but it is mostly more than you will make from lots of ad networks, including adsense. You need clicks and not exactly traffic with mylikes. Plus, the rates go higher the more people you influence and the more people click on your links.

But please put it on your blog page. One tweet here and one facebook page there may not result in any clicks. Trust me, I speak from experience. Don’t miss out on this opportunity. And the cool thing is, you are not called an affiliate. You are called an influencer.
