Hugh Jackman, Porn and Selling Your Soul
Wolverine is too awesome to have been a porn star. Am I the only one who thinks like that?
I was watching Hugh Jackman on Jay Leno yesterday and I found out that Jackman played in a porn!!! Boy, I do hope they were joking around. I mean Jackman in porn? He is such a diverse and talented actor. He can dance, sing, host, act on stage and act on screen. He has conquered Hollywood and Broadway. He can do accents- he has no problem landing roles as an American. I mean he is X-Men’s Wolverine!!! He can’t have done porn when he was younger???
OK- so obviously I am a girl and I don’t really appreciate porn. I’d rather have a good story and have some sex scenes attached. You are supposed to “pretend”, not actually have sex.
So this is it? You have to appear naked and have sex with a producer/director or pose naked and/or play in a porn movie before you make it big time? I refuse to believe that selling your soul before you make your dreams come true is the only one way. Seriously! Did Joan Jett make albums like Shakira’s before she hit it big as a rock chick? I think not and definitely hope not.
The idea is to be able to reach your goals without selling your soul. After all, dreams are a part of your soul. What’s the point if you give it up?

It’s not something new though. Actors(& actresses) do this to get their big break and I’m not totally against it. I mean it’s a hard world we live in and if you have bigger dreams, you’ll have to pay for it. As far as I know, Megan Fox had to wash Mike Bay’s car to get her role in Transformers, I think that’s quite funny. But this type of things do come up every now and then but underneath it’s going on in mass-scale.
Yeah, I know. But washing someone’s car and getting coffee are a tad bit more acceptable. : )
But surely there must be some really big actors who didn’t do porn?? F?ngers crossed.
I’ll follow up with an entry called Actors and Nudity. I mean they are getting naked anyway, I’d think they wouldn’t have to do porn, at least : )
I don’t like porn movies myself, but I am willing to forgive him for taking part in a porn movie in the early stages of his career… many actors do. Rutger Hauer took part in a porn that I’ve watched years ago. I was his fan and loved him in Ladyhawke, Blade Runner and Blind Fury.
Yeah, it is not like I can or will reject Hugh Jackman as one of my favorite actors ever but I still think he was too cool for the whole thing. It is not like he wasn’t talented enough. There should really be another way…
I agree with you gals he is way above pron – who need it – he does not. The first time I ever saw Hugh I did not know he was a movie star I saw him on the stage in London in Oklahoma..he was sensional and you think he looks good on the silver screen – in the flesh he is superb, fantastically handsome and what a pesonality….wow I have never really been the same since buthave wathced all his movies and just hope he will come to London again
I wish I could see him live too. I watched Oklahoma on DVD and he was just brilliant. The guys is so multi-talented. He rocks on stage and on screen. The porn thing still baffles me. Maybe he did it for fun? Maybe he was just being a guy and thought it would make a good tale to tell his mates?

Old news, Hugh Jackman said to have shot a couple of porno during an interview for Van Helsing (2004) six years ago. Now we have technical resources and irreducible “gossipmakers” that would be able of to reconstruct the life of a Neanderthal man. We are in 2010 so why nobody has ever found these films divulging them through sensational tabloid news? Because these films have never existed….
Hugh Jackman has this tendency to joke in his interviews and often the interviewer are not able in distinguishing if he jokes or speaks seriously.
Well, maybe he was joking. I hope he was. I know he is not shy about his body and which comes in handy for an actor. But if he did play in porn, I feel bad. Because you know how good he is.
Well, maybe you are right. Maybe he didn’t. But then again, this is a symbolic thing. This is not just about him. This is about Shakira turning from a red-haired exotic musician to a more advanced form of Britney Spears with her songs and others who sell out to be able to get rich and famous. Great news for Hugh if he didn’t sell out. A lot of people do.
There is the possibility that he never has really told it for the same reason that I said before.
The journalists are manipulating, don’t forget it and don’t exist any radio or TV interviews where Jackman personally says this words.
Well, he was joking around with Leno, but I am pretty sure he implied it. Anyway, if he did it, he did it and had fun. He is a guy. He might have done it just for the hell of it. I know a lot of guys who’d die for the opportunity. If he didn’t, great ! I am not the biggest porn fan:)
But you do get my point. I am most often disappointed by finding about what people had to do. We disappoint ourselves too, it is not just about celebrities.We end up being nice to our bosses even we hate them, for instance. We do things we don’t believe in.
But just because we didn’t find about it, it doesn’t mean it didn’t exist. OK, maybe I am going all conspiracy theory on you.:))

I’m a big fan of Jackman too and I don’t like porno so I understand your disappointment if he had really participated in a X-rated movie
From when I have begun to follow his career (after first X-Men movie) I have made searches very deepen on him, collecting thousand of informations, interviews, photos, videos from the whole world but these films have never gone out, not even on the porno websites. This means an only thing: he has never shot them. X-Men Origins Wolverine has been easily leaked, do you think that it’s impossible to make the same with some old, anonymous porno movies?
Believe me Zoey, it’s full of bastards that would like to damage his career. If these movies existed the day after his presumed declarations “someone” would have put them on Internet. When your name is one of the most sought on Google you cannot hide your past forever and he knows it.

Well I just love having actors playing in mostly great stuff. So far my three favorites are Hugh, Gerard Butler and Clive Owen. Obviously there are other actors I like but these three are very entertaining, talented, diverse and gorgeous. What do you think?

George Clooney reminds me of Mel Gibson and Kevin Costner in the sense that he looks his age. Ok, mel gibson looks awful now but than again, he is 54. George looks his age too while Hugh looks like he could be 34. Clive and Gerard kick some serious ass in their 40s as well. I don’t want to scare you off with another link, Just know my blog is rich when it comes to Hugh, Gerard and Owen.;)
